Mondays 7.45-8.45pm. A weekly guided meditation class that focuses on breath awareness to focus and calm the mind. The classes start by introducing a theme and an overview of the techniques used. This is followed by relaxation exercises to relax the body and release tension and focuses on turning the senses inward. For the formal meditation we focus on the flow of our natural breath. The class closes with gentle stretches and time to quietly journal, reflect and reconnect our senses to the external.
This class is suitable for anyone looking to reduce stress, anxiety and to calm a busy mind. The class includes both seated and lying down exercises but all can be performed seated on the floor with a cushion or a chair. You’ll be supported to find comfort and guided to focus your concentration.
I am an experienced yoga and meditation teacher with over 6 years experience leading groups of both children and adults. I completed a yoga meditation teacher training with the Traditional Yoga Association based on the teachings of Dr AV Kumar. The teachings are rooted in traditional yoga techniques and philosophy of the science of yoga.
